Egypt wind tender attracts 26 bids
 Evidence of the growing interest in wind powered energy generation in the Middle East was demonstrated with a report that a total of 26 firms took part in a tender to build a new green energy plant on Egypt's coast.
According to Middle East news agency MENA a tender to build a 250 Megawatt wind farm on Egypt's east coast attracted a total of 26 international companies to the competition.
The selected developer will be required to develop the project on a turnkey basis, with responsibility for design, finance, construction, and they would also have to own and operate the plant over a period of 20 to 25 years, selling generated power to the Egypt Electricity Transmission Company, MENA reported.Advertisement
