Fulla success confirmed
British-based Dana Petroleum has emphasised the success of recent drilling offshore Norway with the Fulla discovery which it has confirmed as a commercial discovery where development options are already being considered.
Described as a “substantial gas-condensate field,” Dana added that the find in the Norwegian North Sea is being followed up with a second appraisal well which is being drilled as a sidetrack to the original Fulla discovery.
“Proven volumes are currently estimated at between 60 and 105 million barrels of oil equivalent,” Dana declared today, in a statement issued to coincide with the company's annual meeting, which reviews its operations over the last year.
“The Fulla field is likely to be commercial and development options are now being considered,” Dana stated.
Also the company confirmed that the Det Norske operated Eitri well drilled offshore Norway made a minor discovery which gives encouragement for further drilling in the same region, near the Jotun field, where Dana is a partner.
“As a result the next target identified will be drilled by the Jetta well, which has been accelerated from 2010 into the second half of 2009,” Dana has indicated, adding: “The results from this well will allow a more complete assessment of the resource potential in this core area for Dana in Norway.”
