Olso-listed PetroMena has announced it is aware that Singapore-based Sembcorp Marine has accepted the bid for the disputed newbuild PetroRig I drilling unit, from New York Stock Exchange-listed Diamond Offshore Drilling.
PetroRig I was put on sale by Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard, despite protests from PetroMena, which have led to a court challenge mounted against the shipyard to stop the sale.
The rig was confiscated by Jurong and put on sale three months ago after PetroMena, the yard's client, did not make the final payment on the newbuild.
PetroMena said in a statement that it was aware of the latest development.
"PetroMena ASA will come with an updated notice when final contract and price have been agreed," the company said in a statement.
No other comments were made about the Sembcorp Marine statement.
