Companies aiming to qualify to bid for supplying the subsea production system for the first phase development of the Barents Sea Shtokman field were due to get their tendering documents in today at the headquarters of the field development company in Moscow at 10am local time.
Invitations to tender for the subsea system published by Shtokman Development AG are based on an engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contract for subsea hardware plus service during the first year of operation.
Tender documents indicate that the subsea production system is to be installed at the gas and condensate field 600 km (375 miles) from Murmansk in a water depth of 350 m (1,148 ft).
Hardware required under the contract includes six subsea templates, each with four drilling slots, plus a manifold rated for a pressure of 345 bar, along with 20 subsea horizontal 7-inch diameter Xmas trees, also with a design pressure of 345 bar, plus pull-in and connection systems including flowline connectors, and umbilical terminations.
Any successful contractor which wins the subsea EPC deal will be responsible for engineering, procurement,s and fabrication of the equipment, function and integration testing, with delivery to be determined at a later stage of the contracting process.
Assistance during installation of the equipment is required, maintenance during the first year of operation and onshore storage of spares and tools.
