Fat Cat partnership sealed
Published 05.08.2008 10:12:06 by John Bradbury
Partners in two UK North Sea licences have agreed to cross-assign interests to equalise equity in the areas covering the Fat Cat drilling prospect in the Moray Firth area of the Central North Sea. Faroe Petroleum, Reach Exploration, Granby Oil and Gas plus Elixir and Petro-Canada have agreed to the deal relating to licences P1459 covering block 13/24d and P1404 covering block 13/25a which contain Fat Cat. Forward plans for the two licence areas, which lie east of the producing Blake field, include an appraisal well which is to be drilled by December next year. High-resolution 2D seismic data has already been acquired over the prospect area last year. Fat Cat was originally drilled with the 13/24a-2A well operated by Amoco back in 1981 which hit the prospect at a depth of 365 m (1,200 ft) in Lower Cretaceous sands. ![]() Arrests for Greenpeace fourFour Greenpeace protesters who boarded the Stena Don rig working on a deepwater well offshore Greenland for Cairn Energy have been arrested.
