PGNiG prequalified as operator

The Norwegian Ministry for Petroleum and Energy has prequalified Polish PGNiG as an operator on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The Polish company, Polskie Gazownictwo SA, has a history of 150 years, and was privatised in 2005. The Polish state owns 73.5 per cent of the shares.

PGNiG received its first prequalification in 2007, and owns shares in the Skarv field. The company is based in Sandnes.

The company received a license in the TFO 2010 round.
