First fixture for new Technip flexible plant

Technip has landed a first deal for the supply of flexible flowlines from a new production plant based in Malaysia.Technip has been contracted to carry out engineering and supply a six-inch riser, a mid-water arch and two six-inch flexible flowlines from its new plant, Asiaflex, at an industrial complex in Malaysia, for the the Lufeng 13-1 and 13-2 oil fields in the South China Sea under a deal with China National Offshore Oil Corporation. Production of the hardware is due to commence in the third quarter this year once the Asiaflex plant completes qualification trials and delivery of the equipment is due in February 2011. Asiaflex has been developed by Technip to provide a single hub for delivery of up to 200 km (125 miles) of flexible flowlines, at the Tanjung Langsat complex in Malaysia, where the plant has access to a 120 mere (400 ft) quayside and a 300-tonne crane for delivery of flexible pipe, umbilicals and other subsea equipment. ![]() Kuwait collection for PetrofacUK contractor Petrofac has collected a new contract with Kuwait Oil Company for work on new oil and gas pipelines. ![]() Exploration makes nine discoveriesExploration offshore Norway resulted in a total of nine discoveries being made in first half this year according to official figures.
