North Sea operator Talisman Energy has signalled plans to extend its UK Tweedsmuir field development this year with a new exploration well.Talisman signalled that it will drill a well to the north of the Tweedsmuir field area to test a northern extension of the field this year, which will follow on from a third phase of water injection development at Tweedsmuir within its Northern Business Area during 2009. Also Talisman has indicated it will be involved in three other development wells and one further exploration well which was drilling at the end of 2009 and into early 2010, within its UK NBA portfolio. Still in the NBA portfolio, Talisman says it will start redevelopment of the Claymore field this year, with the first phase of an upgrade project on Claymore platform compressors. Elsewhere in the North Sea Talisman says its Central Business Area, comprising the Montrose, Arbroath, Fulmar, Auk, Clyde, Ross/Blake and Buchan fields will see more work this year with the start of the Auk North development involving drilling and completion of two wells.
