Oil production increases in Feb

The preliminary figures from NPD indicates an increase in the oil production from January to February 2010.

22.2 million standard cubic metres of oil equivalents were produced on the Norwegian continental shelf in January. This is a decrease of 0.2 million standard cubic metres compared to January 2009.

The daily production totalled 1.9 million barrels of oil, 282,000 barrels of NGL and 72,000 barrels of condensate in January 2010, the NPD reports. The Vale field was closed in January due to technical problems.

The preliminary production figures for February show a higher production than in January. The Draugen field was reduced in February due to freezing problems.
