Published 10.03.2010 12:36:36 by John Bradbury
Minority partner Solo Oil has underlined the importance of the Likonde 1 well operated by Tullow Oil which has started drilling offshore Tanzania, in the frontier Ruvuma Basin region. Solo repeated the statement made by Tullow today on Likonde 1 which has been selected for drilling to try and prove up a new play fairway following the interpretation of reprocessed seismic data. Results from Likonde 1 are expected towards the end of this month and further evaluation of the acreage is planned for this year with reprocessing of a seismic data set and the incorporation of the Likonde 1 drilling results, which is expected to influence future exploration work, Solo indicated. Tullow has 50% operated equity in the Likonde 1 well, and Aminex has a further 37.5%, leaving Solo with 12.5% equity. ![]() Kuwait collection for PetrofacUK contractor Petrofac has collected a new contract with Kuwait Oil Company for work on new oil and gas pipelines. ![]() Exploration makes nine discoveriesExploration offshore Norway resulted in a total of nine discoveries being made in first half this year according to official figures.
