Drilling consent to Optimus

Talisman Energy has received consent to drill an exploration well east of the Gyda field. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Talisman Energy Norge a drilling permit for well 2/2-6 on Optimus in the North Sea. The well is located just east of the Gyda field in production licence 332.
Talisman is operator with an ownership interest of 40 per cent. The other licensees are Det norske oljeselskap with 40 per cent, Bayerngas Produksjon Norge with 10 per cent and Norske AEDC with 10 per cent.
The well is the first exploration well to be drilled in the exploration licence, and it will be drilled from the Mærsk Guardian drilling rig.
