Venus secures first option
Published 22.07.2010 09:20:42 by John Bradbury
Norwegian driller Songa Offshore has secured extra cash after Shell Development Australia declared the first well option on a drilling contract with the Songa Venus.

Songa reported that Shell has declared the first of three optional wells on the semi-submersible Songa Venus, which will take 30 days to drill and the operator has options for two further wells of up to 60 days duration.

Songa Venus was contracted to Shell for three firm wells and three optional wells through to the end of 2010, and thereafter is contracted to Total in Australia for two  wells in early 2011.
