Noble takes over Frontier

Drilling contractor Noble Corporation has closed a US $2.16 Bn deal to acquire another rig owner adding seven new units to its fleet. Noble said it has completed the acquisition of FDR Holdings - Frontier – which owns three dynamically-positioned drillships – which includes two ultra-deepwater rigs which are currently under construction – two moored drillships, one of which is an Arctic-class unit, plus a conventionally moored semi-submersible rig as well as an FPSO, increasing Noble's fleet from 62 to 69 units.
