Published 29.07.2010 11:40:28 by John Bradbury
Exploration offshore Norway resulted in a total of nine discoveries being made in first half this year according to official figures. Data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate shows that 25 exploration wells had been drilled or spudded on the Norwegian Continental Shelf by the end of June this year, down on the 33 exploration wells spudded in the first half of last year. Of those 25 wells, 19 were classed as wildcat wells targeting new prospects, while the other six were appraisals of existing discoveries. Nine discoveries were made, five of them in the North Sea and four in the Norwegian Sea, the NPD said. ![]() Arrests for Greenpeace fourFour Greenpeace protesters who boarded the Stena Don rig working on a deepwater well offshore Greenland for Cairn Energy have been arrested.
