DECC launched new consultations
Published 30.07.2010 15:31:45 by John Bradbury
Britain's government ministry responsible for energy has launched a total of six new consultations related to the sector this week. The consultations by the Department of Energy and Climate Change are designed to give the public and interested parties a say in how future policies are developed and include a statutory consultation on the Renewables Obligation Order 2011; a consultation on the implementation of a third European Union energy package. Consultations have also been launched on implementation of smart metering systems and on changes to the renewable energy guarantees of origin. There is a call for evidence on a new analysis for pathways to Britain's energy needs in 2050 and another evidence call from Ofgem – the energy regulatory body. Also the DECC has published the results of consultations on a policy affecting biomass, anaerobic digestion, and energy from waste under the renewables obligation, and the results from a second on grid access. ![]() Arrests for Greenpeace fourFour Greenpeace protesters who boarded the Stena Don rig working on a deepwater well offshore Greenland for Cairn Energy have been arrested.
