PSA not happy with Rowan
Published 12.04.2010 08:37:21 by Elisabeth Kolstad
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has issued orders to to operator BG Norge and Rowan.

PSA has issued an order to Rowan to document that the offshore cranes on the rig Rowan Gorilla VI comply with the regulations. To ensure a good follow up  in the time to come, it has also issued an order to BG Norge as an operator for the rig's current drill operations, according to a press release from PSA.

Rowan Gorilla VI received an acknowledgement of complience (AoC) in November. This was based on analysis and verifications carried out by subcontractor DNV.

The PSA has established that these analysis and verifications are "very deficient", and therefore cannot be used to establish that the offshore cranes on Rowan Gorilla VI comply with the regulations.
