Mapping starts asap
Published 28.04.2010 08:37:10 by Elisabeth Kolstad
The Norwegian Oil and Energy Ministry has confirmed that the mapping of the petroleum resources in the Barents Sea will start immediately.

"The job starts now. First of all, we have to map the resources in the area. It is mandatory, so we increase the knowledge of the petroleum resources in the area. But the agreement is less than a day old, so it is too early to say anything about the actual procedures, "said information officer of the Oil and Energy, Jon Evang to our sister site Offshore.no.

When will we know more?

"At this point I can't say much more."

Have you noticed any pressure to speed up the work?

"Yes, and now we will start working, so we'll have to come back to the schedule of what happens when, "said Evang.
