Soco secures rig

Asian explorer Soco International says it has secured a rig to continue drilling in the Cuu Long Basin offshore Vietnam.

London-listed Soco said the Maersk Convincer jackup has been contracted by the Hoang Long Joint Operating Company from Maersk Drilling.

Maersk's rig will be used to drill a Te Giac Den 2X appraisal well offshore Vietnam, which will is due to spud in June.
